25 Minutes of Inspiration Foyer

Only took me 25 minutes of inspiration, some phantom hooks from WalMart,  2 old window frames, a mantel found at a flea market, my precious found objects and a tinsy bit of junk.

It was a blank space, I first secure the mantel with a hooks used to hang frames, these hooks don't need  a hammer and leave a tiny hole when removed.
I have to use pretty much hooks, bubble gum and banana peels on the walls- since I cannot' drill much on military housing.
The "table" base is an old iron sewing machine, -the steps are only one of the tools of the trade
.

This mantel was recovered and sold to me for only 40 dollars, windows where 10 a piece...
Details on the mantel...

Old post cards and photographs of the Swiss Alps.

small chest home is homefor  more old post cards..flower frogs from a flower shop in Hollywood California are used to hold photos.

Pearls, jute, wood, crystal..

I need to edit this pace just a little bit..

Have you ever heard of Soapberries?

Today I learned a new fact that I wish to share with all of you, I went to instructables.com and  I found a very interesting piece of information on cleaning, how to use  berries to wash your clothes!! this soapberries are used all over the world and have been used for probably thousands of years to wash, contains saponins active ingredient used to make soaps, albeit the name of soap, savon, jabon...anyways This berry is recomended for cleaning and you might used it to wash your body because contains no chemicals however it's irritant on the eyes, in case you want to use it as shampoo. I've been always afraid of chemicals we use in our bodies, and I bet there is much more natural practices in folk remedies we can use instead of cosmetics often linked with cancer.. thanks for reading

My Military Base Housing

My home is simple and unpretencious, it's filled with objects that we love to watch and use, many of them found and rescued.
I only splunge on furniture because it needs to be sturdy, we've  moved so much and so very often to different climates that makes veneers are not an option
I only buy things that I love and thing s that I can use them in multiple tasks. We  try to be organic  so there is no plastics or sintetics fibers around... cotton, linen, wool  are also affordable.

Finding objects it's gratifiying and they make exeptional conversation pieces.

Nothing that a white and soft palete can't help,  the military policy on housing is when you move out it needs to be as steryl as you found it, meaning  white walls, vynil floors, hideous bathroom can't be modified, don't forget  blids stay put, so I have always to work around what I already have  . My home is definetely an example of the resourcesfulness of any army wife in one income household.
Thanks for stoping by...

Sunburn Summer

summerFashion Trends & Styles - Polyvore

With the summer comes the pool season, I can't tell if is good or bad because as soon as the pool is warm enough my kids jump in and they surely  refuse to get out, so today they dragged to the pool right after breakfast. I can't complaint on their behaviour they were at their best,  they stayed so content for so long that I enjoyed the peace and quiet that i  couldn't notice my sunburned skin, as soon as I got our of the water and dry the pain hited me,  I mean sunburned like a boiled crab, my skin complexion is supossed to work in my advantage, I was born tanned! I knew that the ozone is depleting but c'mon.. well I guess we better bring 50 plus sun block the next time... Don't forget to hidrate... see ya soon

Favorite things in Black and White

Recently I came across some dozens of love letters sent to a lady in the forties, she keep them all neatly tied up in a bunch. I read some of them and luckily I found a picture of her and her lover, I can't tell how things end since I haven't been able to read them all, I will post more on this later.and yes I feel like I'm reading correspondence that does not belongs to me, things that nobody should know but her, however any events passes about 50 plus years ago.. what is your opinion on the matter? should I keep reading them at all or not?

Babies sleeping on a shell nest, I collect these small green houses and fill them with my collections of faeries and shells.

My little creepy girl it's almost natural size, she wears my hat collections.

Back in The Day banners and decoration, lovely bakery and awesome ambience,I  enjoyed their great cupcakes so much that I took my kids next morning to find our that their cup cakes fly off very early in the morning, Cheryl is a great bakerhowever the most sweetest thing about her is her bubbly personality, I talked to her and her husband, you can tell they make a wonderful couple and team. I vote Back in the Day the best red velvet cupcakes in the world, in my opinion...Jo Packman was the host speaker for the event so I had the chance to meet her, she was chatting all afternoon with vendors and guests, let me tell you  she has some great anergy about her, very friendly very and down to earth, at the end of the event when everybody was picking up their wares she was right there offering a hand. I was really excited to meet her because she is the thread that unites so many creative women and she attends to so many events no matter where they are, she is truly inspirational
Her artist name is Dollybelle, gorgeous girl, really nice, great artist, beautiful blog http://www.dollybellespeepshow.typepad.com/

Amada was just across from my table, she is a awesome artist, here you can see her with a costumer at the event... her eye candy blog
